For the second year in a row, Concord was acknowledged as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the nation. Moving up in the ranks, at 4,473, Concord is on pace to become a "three-peat" contender for 2012.

Concord attends 1st annual TVBA conference

Concord and its managed services partners, DPGI and Accord Federal were in attendance for the 1st annual Tennessee Veterans Business Association (TVBA) conference, held in Knoxville, TN. Jonathan Williams, President of Accord Federal spearheaded the event as acting President of the TVBA. Over one hundred veteran owned business vendors were in attendance in an effort to bring awareness to the East Tennessee region of the capabilities within our veteran community.

Concord to develop STEMdiversity ON-DEMAND

Concord is working closely with the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation Programs nationwide to develop a cyber-platform for career preparation and advancement of college students, graduates and post-graduates in STEM-related fields of study. Concord named to Inc. 5000 – fastest-growing U.S. companies

Concord Professional Services, Inc. has been placed on the prestigious 2010 Inc. 500|5000 List. The Inc. 500|5000 annual list exclusively ranks America’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs.

“We are honored and excited to be recognized on this list,” says Concord President and majority owner Geoff Haas. “Our continued growth clearly demonstrates our commitment to repeatedly exceed our customers’ expectations. This recognition is a tribute to all Concord employees – and to the Federal Government customers we serve.”

The list ranking is based on the percentage of growth experienced between 2006 and 2009. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent as of December 31, 2009. This year’s Inc. 5000 employ a record 1.4 million people, up from one million on last year’s list.

“The leaders of the companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 have figured out how to grow their businesses during the longest recession since the Great Depression,” said Inc. president Bob LaPointe. “The 2010 Inc. 5000 showcases a particularly hardy group of entrepreneurs.”

Concord awarded $1.1M Bureau of Indian Affairs Contract

Concord was awarded a five-year $1.1 Million dollar contract to support the Bureau of Indian Affairs in their efforts to maintain fiscal integrity of the funds allotted and transferred in support of self-governance tribes nationwide. Concord staff will be responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of the guidelines, reporting, as well as the allotment and allocation of funding. This is a Recovery Act program award.

CPS wins U.S. Maritime Administration bid in Alaska

CPS, Inc. will support the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) to assist with management of construction projects in the Port of Anchorage, Alaska. MARAD works includes supporting the port authorities in planning, designing, constructing and managing the upgrade of facilities for rehabilitation and modernization to enhance the transportation within the United States and its Territories. Their work also includes streamlining the environmental process. In support of this contract, CPS, Inc. is providing civil engineering staff that will be serving as the site project manager.

CPS win contract to support DoD IT and Audio/Video services

March 8, 2010 – CPS wins contract to support the Defense Media Activity (DMA) in San Antonio, TX. DMA is the DoD’s direct line of communication for news and information to U.S. forces worldwide including Airman magazine and Airman Online. CPS will provide IT professional website content management and audio/video support.

CPS teaches Boy Scouts of America

CPS understands that actively supporting the career development of the future generation is vitally important. The youth of today will be the country's workforce in just a matter of just a few years. As such, in February, staff from CPS, Inc. will be teaching the all day accelerated "Environmental Science" Merit Badge course for the Boy Scouts of America. Roane State Community College has hosted the Boy Scout Merit Badge College since 1988. Seven hundred scouts take part in this annual event.

CPS wins contract to support Army’s Disabled Veterans

CPS in support of Mid-Atlantic CASU has been awarded a contract to provide Health System Specialist support to West Point, NY in an effort to counsil military personnel from all branches of the uniformed services, retirees and families of those processed through the Army Physical Disability Evaluation System (APDES) on their rights, benefits, privileges or obligations.

Parish serves as Judge for the FLC

Brad Parish, Vice President of Business Development for CPS, Inc. recently served as a judge for the Federal Laboratory Consortium of Technology Transfer for their 2010 Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer. The awards recognize science and technology employees in FLC laboratories who have accomplished outstanding work in the process of transferring federally developed technology. Nominations were received from government agencies such as NASA, ORNL, PNNL, NIST, ARS, AMES, CDC, Sandia, etc.
Parish served on the panel that included other experts from industry, state and local government, academia, and the federal laboratory system to judge the nominations.
